I just delivered this newest of my custom built instruments yesterday. My client was unhappy with the 2 factory and 1 custom resonator banjos he owns, and asked me to design and build him one with more volume, and a warmer tone than his others. The result was this new 5-string banjo with a 12 fret to the body fingerstyle guitar type neck, and a full size Dobro style maple body. The full scale, but shorter mahogany neck allows for a warmer, more relaxed tone, and the body (being larger than other reso banjos) gives more volume.
The customer was very happy, and I miss it! Please visit my website to see more of it, and hear a sound sample!

Scott, Your guitars are beautiful works of art! I visted your shop many years ago with my guitar teacher Claude Perrit and was so inspired by the work you do! as my love for the instrument grew over the years I never forgot my visit to your shop! YOU have inspired me to build an electric guitar the way Jimmy Page or Eric Clapton inspired a kid to pickup the guitar! I owe you a thank you for your time and patience with me, I built two electric guitars this past year with wood from Home Depot and I'm starting my third semihollow routing out wood I ordered from stew/mac and glueing bookmatched "redwood" to the back. I used to look foward to reading your "workbench" articles. Dan Erlewine helped me a lot. But I realize how much that visit to your shop inspired and how much respect and 'Awe" I have for your artistry craft and knowledge " Frankly I don't know you do it" but thank you Scott! You helped inspire me to find a love and passion in guitar building, even though it is just a hobby for me I enjoy it as much as playing them! Best Wishes!!! Paul Fieman
